Vu YauKo 何友珏

Hi! Welcome to my homepage. My name is Youjue He; or 何He[xɤ˧˥]友You[jəu˨˩˦]珏Jue[tɕyə˧˥] in Chinese order. I come from Whenzhou, Zhejiang, China, and the local dialect is my first language. So the homepage is named after my name articulated in my mother tongue, 何Vu[vʋ̩˧˩]友Yau[jaʋ˦˥]珏Ko[ko˧˨˧].

I am now a Ph.D. candidate at Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Peking University, majoring in Phonetics. My research interests lie in phonetic and phonological properties of Chinese dialects and Minority languages of China. Currently, my dissertation is focusing on investigating rhotic vowels of Naish languages, a subgroup of Sino-Tibetan languages, aiming to combine historical comparative reconstruction with evidence-based methods.
