Vu YauKo 何友珏

Hi! Welcome to my homepage. My name is Youjue He; or 何He[xɤ˧˥]友You[jəu˨˩˦]珏Jue[tɕyə˧˥] in Chinese order. I come from Whenzhou, Zhejiang, China, and the local dialect is my first language. So the homepage is named after my name articulated in my mother tongue, 何Vu[vʋ̩˧˩]友Yau[jaʋ˦˥]珏Ko[ko˧˨˧].

I am now a Postdoctoral Fellow at Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. My research interests lie in phonetic and phonological properties of Chinese dialects and Minority languages of China. Currently, my dissertation is focusing on investigating rhotic vowels of Naish languages, a subgroup of Sino-Tibetan languages, aiming to combine historical comparative reconstruction with evidence-based methods.
